Long weekends inspire
I've made a decision to take weekends off from writing and only write Monday-Friday. Even being creative can get in a rut if you do it 6 or 7 days a week.
Sometimes it's a hard decision to keep--not necesarily the not writing part, but getting back into the writing. I had a long weekend--funfilled, but long. I went to the James Burton Guitar Festival (James Burtone is a local musician who was part of Elvis band and now gives benefits to raise money to give to the poorer public schools' music programs. It's a very very worthy cause and has turned around more kids than we'll ever know.)
Anyway, the festival was a blast, keeping me up way beyond my bedtime and I haven't caught up on sleep since.
So it's a sleep, rainy Monday and I really want to go back to bed.
Wait a minute! I write for a living! That means I keep my own hours! I CAN go back to bed if I want to, and I definitey want to.
Nite-nite,
Connie
